Sunday in Hawai'i was Volcanoes National Park day. We drove around the north side of the island to the park, which was on the opposite side of the island from our hotel - about a two hour drive. A bright, sunny, day in Waikoloa turned into a cloudy, windy, and rainy day on the other side of the island. Sean did OK during our time there, but he really didn't like being rained on so much. Sean's favorite sight was the Thurston Lava Tube, Barbara liked the Halema'uma'u Crater, and Dave liked the Sulphur Banks. We went back to Waikoloa across the middle of the island, by Mauna Kea - one of two peaks on the island that nearly reach 14,000 feet. All of us enjoyed looking at the flora and fauna, especially unfolding fern fronds...
