Father's Day

Nana and Grandpa came in to visit the Cypress Boyce's this weekend.  They all came down to Friendswood with the idea of spending the day in Galveston.  Some tropical weather put an end to that idea, so we had lunch at Chuy's, went to the Main Event for games, and then swimming at our house.

Happy Father's day to Dan, Ted, Nick and all the other fathers out there!

Space Shuttle? No, not really.

On Friday Sean and Aunt Joanne went to Space Center Houston and visited its new exhibit, the mock space shuttle.  It was delivered to Houston from Florida last weekend via barge with great fanfare.

For those of you that don't live in Houston, the area was pretty chapped that Los Angeles and NYC, both not notable for their contributions to the space program, received "real" shuttles.

Saturday morning Barbara, Sean, and Aunt Jo ran a race in Texas City.  Saturday evening Barbara, Sean, and I went to Brazos Bend State Park to see (and look through) the observatory telescopes.  We were able to see really cool images of Saturn and its rings.

Sunday evening we spent a casual evening at the Boyce's in Cyprus with Carol, Clinton, and Ike.

2012 Memorial Day

Memorial Day!  With special thanks to Sean's Grandpa (Army) and my Dziadziu (Coast Guard) for their service.

We spent Saturday at Moody Garden's Palm Beach with Grandma and Aunt Jo.  After they put in a lazy river last year season tickets this year were a no brainer.

Sunday we went to the Carter's house for a Memorial Day party.

My big project for the weekend was cleaning out the garage.  I have "before" pictures but I am to embarrassed to show them before I have "after" pictures.  It was very sad giving away Sean's strollers, and the trash men were probably not all that happy when they stopped at our house today, either.

How did a picture of me get in here?

Easter Kerrville 2012

The extended Boyce family was in Kerrville to celebrate Easter.  So far Sean has accomplished most of the items he put on his list this week for this visit: dye eggs, go to hot tub, play with Elissa, go to Nana's park, and make waffles and pigs in a blanket for breakfast.

Rodeo Houston 2012

We finally made it to Rodeo Houston today, on the last day of the event.  Through the miracles of social networking we saw that the Boyce's would be there at the same time and hooked up.  Sean and Elissa got along famously, however they mostly ignored poor Dylan - it is a good thing he had four adults to entertain him!

This year Sean stopped to read all the educational signs

I am not sure what the game is here, but Sean says he was being an allosaurus

Don't tell anyone, but they were holding hands waiting for a ride and it was cute!

Facebook Pics and Some Extras

Posting some pictures that are on Facebook, for non-Facebook followers.  This weekend started early for Sean and Aunt Joanne.  They, and Barbara and Grandma, went and flew a kite on Friday afternoon.  Saturday started out with all the Pastas (except Dave) running the Methodist Stride 4 Stroke.  We followed that up with a lot of yard work and then dinner at Jake's with Aunt Joanne.  Today we read a lot, went to Mass, and did more yard work.  Dave got to remove a dead possum from the garage lean-to, and Sean got to paint a ceramic birdhouse he received as a gift from the Cypress Boyces.
